Counselling for Men in Leeds - Therapy for Anxiety & Life’s Challenges.
I’m Ronnie, a BACP qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Leeds, offering in-person and online therapy across the UK. I specialise in supporting clients with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, low self-esteem and identity-related concerns. I have extensive experience of working with gay men and women, and people exploring sexuality, relationships and self-acceptance.
My approach is relatable, modern and collaborative -helping you understand what’s driving your distress, make sense of difficult emotions, and finding ways of responding that help you feel more grounded, confident and in control.
Inclusive Therapy for Men & LGBTQ+ Clients
Starting counselling can feel like a big step. You might be unsure what to expect, or worried about saying the “right” thing.
As a therapist based in Leeds, I create a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly and without judgement. Together, we’ll focus on what matters most to you and work towards the changes or understanding you’re hoping for.
Whether you're a professional juggling demands, a man struggling to open up, or part of the LGBTQ+ community looking for a therapist who truly understands—you're not alone. Many people experience stress, anxiety, or relationship problems without knowing exactly why.
Life can feel overwhelming at times—whether you’re stuck in anxious thoughts, questioning your direction, or feeling disconnected from others. Therapy offers a space to make sense of what’s going on, and I’m here to help you do that.
I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, low self-esteem, neurodiversity and struggles with sexuality—helping you make sense of who you are to find a way forward.
Together, we will work towards promoting healing, personal growth and well-being.

Choosing the right counsellor is an important first step and it matters that you feel understood. My role is to offer support tailored to you - your experiences, what matters to you and the challenges you’re facing.
My path into counselling began through years of volunteering with organisations such as Samaritans and Leeds Mind, where I learned the value of listening without judgement. I later trained and worked in university counselling services, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those navigating neurodiversity, identity, trauma and complex life transitions.
I bring a straightforward, collaborative approach to therapy. I am humanistic at my core, which means I see our relationship as central to the work we do together. You won’t be met with jargon or clinical distance - instead, we’ll explore what’s going on for you in an honest way - person to person, at your pace.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, relationship difficulties, or a more general sense that something isn’t quite right, we’ll work together to make sense of things and find a way forward that feels authentic to you. I welcome and affirm all identities, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients, and I aim to create a space where you don’t have to hide or edit parts of yourself.
I currently offer sessions in person and online, creating a flexible and accessible space for us to connect.

FAQ’s
I’ve never had therapy before - what can I expect?
Much as no two people are the same, every therapy session is different. I aim to provide a relaxing space for you - confidential and without judgement. The first session will be about getting to know your reasons for seeking therapy and taking some details from you. We will discuss your expectations and you can also ask me questions.
How do I work?
I work in a person-centred, integrative way, with influences of psychodynamic therapy. This means we can adapt as we continue to work together. Some people use sessions to let off steam, while others wish to delve deeper into the past. You may prefer structure and challenge. For this I may integrate aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, where we explore your thoughts and behaviours or Solution Focused techniques.
How many sessions would I need?
There are no rules to therapy duration. At the start, it is useful to have a consistent amount of sessions together to build a rapport and get to know each other. Thereafter, I offer open-ended therapy depending on your issues.
How much does each session cost?
My rate is £55 for a 50 minute session. It is important to me that you feel I am the right therapist for you. For this reason I offer an initial free 15 min call to discuss what is going on for you. I also offer concessions for students or those on low income.
