Getting Started

  • counselling in leeds

    1. Initial Chat

I offer a free 10–20 minute consultation by phone or online. This gives you space to ask questions, share a little about what brings you to counselling, and get a feel for how I work. It also allows me to understand your needs and for us both to decide if working together feels like the right step. There’s no pressure to commit, and if I don’t have immediate availability, I’ll let you know during our conversation.

    2. Schedule First Session

If you choose to go ahead, we’ll arrange a first counselling session either online or in person. In this meeting we’ll explore your reasons for seeking support in more depth and I’ll explain how the counselling process could help. It’s an opportunity to begin building trust and to see how it feels to talk things through. Sessions last 50 minutes, and I’ll always be clear about my availability and how we can set up a regular schedule that works for you.

    3. First Session

In our first counselling session—whether online or face-to-face—we’ll take time to talk more fully about what has brought you here. This is your space to share at a pace that feels comfortable, while I listen and begin to get a clearer picture of your needs. I’ll also explain how I work, what counselling might look like, and answer any questions you may have. The aim of this first meeting is to make sure you feel supported and to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
