Men’s Therapy in Leeds: Confidential, Affirming Counselling
Straightforward, Practical Therapy with a Male Therapist in Leeds
You might feel unsure what to expect from therapy or worry about saying the “right” thing. My role is to help you focus on what matters and work towards the changes you’re hoping for.
I’m a BACP‑qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in Leeds, offering in‑person and online therapy across the UK. My approach is straightforward and grounded — sessions are conversational, helping you spot patterns, make sense of what’s going on, and challenge what’s keeping you stuck.
I specialise in anxiety, intrusive thoughts, stress, low self‑esteem, relationship difficulties and identity‑related concerns, with extensive experience supporting men and LGBTQIA+ clients around sexuality, self‑acceptance and connection.
What I Offer
Support for men’s anxiety and panic with practical symptom-management and reduced avoidance.
Therapy for intrusive thoughts and rumination using sensitive, evidence-informed techniques. Help with relationship issues, communication, intimacy and sexual-health stress.
Support exploring sexual identity and coming out, addressing stigma and internalised homo/bi/transphobia.
Short- and long-term therapy tailored to your needs.
My collaborative, grounded approach focuses on practical, evidence‑informed strategies that reduce distress: identifying the root causes of your difficulties, processing painful emotions and building lasting clarity, resilience and confidence. Sessions are confidential and tailored to your needs, whether you prefer face‑to‑face therapy in Leeds or flexible online counselling UK‑wide.
You might be a professional holding everything together on the surface but struggling underneath.
You might be someone who finds it hard to open up — or unsure how to even start.
You might be part of the LGBTQ+ community and want a therapist who understands the nuance without you having to explain everything.
Whatever brings you here, something isn’t sitting right — whether that’s anxiety, relationship issues, feeling stuck, or not fully understanding yourself.
That’s what we work through together.

TESTIMONIALS
My path into counselling began through years of volunteering with organisations such as Samaritans and Leeds Mind. I later worked in the NHS and university counselling services, supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those navigating neurodiversity, identity, trauma and complex life transitions.
I bring a straightforward, collaborative approach to therapy. I am humanistic at my core, which means I see our relationship as central to the work we do together. You won’t be met with jargon or clinical language - instead, we’ll explore what’s going on for you in an honest way - person to person, at your pace.
Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, relationship difficulties, or a more general sense that something isn’t quite right, we’ll work together to make sense of things and find a way forward that feels authentic to you. I welcome and affirm all identities, including LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients, and I aim to create a space where you don’t have to hide or edit parts of yourself.
I currently offer sessions in person and online, creating a flexible and accessible space for us to connect.
FAQ’s
I’ve never had therapy before - what can I expect?
No two people are the same, therefore every therapy session is different. I aim to provide a relaxing space for you. The first session will be about getting to know your reasons for seeking therapy and taking some details from you. We will discuss your expectations and you can also ask me questions.
How do I work?
I work in a person-centred, integrative way, with influences of psychodynamic therapy. This means we can adapt as we continue to work together. Some people use sessions to let off steam, while others wish to delve deeper into the past. You may prefer structure and challenge. For this I may integrate aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, where we explore your thoughts and behaviours or Solution Focused techniques.
How many sessions would I need?
There are no rules to therapy duration. At the start, it is useful to have a consistent amount of sessions together to build a rapport and get to know each other. Thereafter, I offer open-ended therapy depending on your issues.
How much does each session cost?
My rate is £60 for a 50 minute session. It is important to me that you feel I am the right therapist for you. For this reason I offer an initial free 15 min call to discuss what is going on for you. I also offer concessions for students or those on low income.
